Aalya Zaab Albeeshi

King Saud University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Aalya chose her bachelor’s degree in speech language pathology and audiology at King Saud University (KSU) out of a deep desire to understand communication from a disordered perspective. Her mission is to help people improve their ability to express themselves. As a junior at KSU, she has immersed herself in linguistics, neuroscience, anatomy, and physics. The diversity of this study plan appealed to Aalya’s hunger for knowledge. When she is not exploring the realms of speech pathology, she serves as a board member of the Hearing Disorder and Speech-Language Club, where she plans and coordinates events and oversees activities. Additionally, she serves Translators without Borders as a volunteer, providing educational and informative materials to underserved communities undergoing humanitarian crises. Aalya loves journaling in her spare time and credits this habit for her thinking agility, orderliness, and record-keeping skills.

Abdullah Yasir Alalawi

King Abdulaziz University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Although Abdullah is pursuing his dentistry degree at King Abdulaziz University, he is better known for his ambition, well-roundedness, and drive to connect with diverse audiences through meaningful content. For instance, he has won several competitions: an awareness development initiative led by the Ministry of Health across the Gulf Cooperation Council; the best social work idea from Princess Seeta on National Day; the best social initiative in the Young Leadership Building Program at Al-Rajhi Human and AlSubaei Charity Center; the “golden” category at the Garss Social Entrepreneurship Competition; and lastly, third place for delivering audio-visual media content at the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology competition. He has also won several academic accolades – Abdullah represented the graduates of King Abdulaziz University in the 2019 graduation ceremony, is a graduate of the Young Arab Media Leaders Program organized by the Ministry of Youth at the United Arab Emirates, and is a representative of the MBC Ambassadors of Hope.

Abdulmajeed Mohammad Aljaloud

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology

Computer Science/Technology

Abdulmajeed was only 16 when he helped launch a mobile maintenance booth; this is when he first fell in love with artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. He subsequently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in computer science and electrical engineering at the University of Illinois, from which he graduated with high honors. There, he also organized awareness events promoting Saudi culture. He is passionate about helping students; since 2010, he organized workshops for Mawhiba. Currently, as a recipient of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Gifted Students Program scholarship, Abdulmajeed is completing a master’s degree in computer science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). Interning there as a researcher, he helped create a high-accuracy ultrasonic indoor localization system. He continued pursuing his passion for data science as software engineering intern at Elm Company, developing and testing databases and websites to be used in connection with the company’s services.

Abdulrahman Mohammed Alsuwailim

King Faisal University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Abdulrahman has always been an academic; during his high school years, he won the Gold Medal as the Distinguished Student from the Sheikh Abdulwahab Al Mousa Award for Excellence in Education. Additionally, at King Fahad Medical City, he worked on two ambitious clinical research projects. As a senior medical student at King Faisal University (KFU), Abdulrahman continued to excel, placing second ranked distinction among all students in 2018 for his accomplishments in both academia and extracurricular activities. He combines his passion for learning with his desire to serve – he served on the East Province Youth Council, the Medical Student Council, the Deanship of Student Affairs Volunteering Club, and to provide first aid to pilgrims. Additionally, he is an exceptional coach, having not only won first place in a prestigious coaching competition for his leadership and presentation skills, but also having taught English to over 30 Saudi students while in the UK in cooperation with ETC International College.

Afaf Nasser Alqahtani

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University

Law

Although Afaf is a senior law student at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University with a distinguished GPA, the wealth of her experience is not limited to the legal field; rather, she is passionate about uplifting underprivileged communities out of additional socio-economic issues – most recently, the social program she created to help female cancer patients with childcare was selected for sponsorship by the Zahra Association. In 2018, after completing an internship at the Law Studies Center in Riyadh, where she provided free legal services to underprivileged communities, she subsequently drew on her experience to launch a legal clinic at her university. Her dedication to her community is complemented by a desire to share her wealth of knowledge. She also presides over the Business Club’s recruitment team; she helps organize training workshops for students and set up an annual conference for entrepreneurship.

Ahmed Hamad AlOmairin

King Faisal University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Although Ahmed is a recipient of the Prince Mohammed Bin Fahad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Award for Scientific Excellence and of a certificate of appreciation from the Deanship of Admission and Registration for academic excellence, he initially struggled at King Faisal University (KFU), pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery. He took matters into his own hands and established the Step club to provide academic resources to other medical students. He cares deeply about his fellow students; as the assistant to the Director of the Deanship of Student Affairs Volunteering Club, he helps organize morale-boosting activities. He is also the head of the Media Committee of the Medical Student Council. His dedication to helping others is not limited to the scholastic environment. In 2017, Ahmed led an on-campus awareness campaign on chronic childhood diseases that reached 1,300 people. Additionally, in 2018, he participated as a field team leader for the Al Hajj health volunteering program.

Alaa Abdulrahman Alnemer

Taibah University

Physics

As a Physics Cup 2019 contestant and the presenter of the launching ceremony of “Fazzah” (VCA), Alaa is deeply passionate about exploring and teaching science as well as mobilizing the scientific community. She was nominated to participate in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST)’s Winter Enrichment Program, and in July, Alaa will start summer school, followed by an internship program in semiconductor spectroscopy at the KAUST Solar Center. As a student of physics at Taibah University, she not only maintained an excellent academic record, she led the student council as well as the Public Relations Committee for Taibah’s Science Club. Additionally, she volunteered at Cancer Focus Northern Ireland to raise funds for research. When she is not pursuing academia, she enjoys teaching other students about data analysis; she recently showed participants the science behind their own hobbies in an ideathon at Medvation. She is also a content creator and translator at the Saudi Forum for Space Science.

Alanoud Bader Alofaysan

King Saud University

Economics

As a student of economics at King Saud University, Alanoud aspires to achieve multiple sustainable development goals. Recently, she became the president of “Noor Al Tailemieh” in the Student Partnership Program at her university, which helps children with chronic diseases continue their education, and which was recognized and rolled out across five hospitals by the Ministry of Health. Additionally, after undergoing leadership training as a delegate of Salam for Cultural Communication, she co-founded “Saudi,” which aims to connect children globally by propagating acceptance. She is currently working on another initiative in collaboration with King Saud University and the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, “Makhbara,” to link professionals together. To round out her experience with mentorship opportunities, she has taken several internships ranging from working for a law firm to consulting at her university’s vocational center. Alanoud is also deeply passionate about volunteerism; she received the Best Volunteer President Award from the Princess Al Anood Foundation. At her university, Alanoud oversees content creation, including digital and motion graphics, for the economics club.

Alwaleed Khaled Dhabban

Prince Sultan University

Engineering

With honors and a full scholarship, Alwaleed complements his production and manufacturing engineering studies at Prince Sultan University (PSU) with real-world experience. He is currently interning at GE Power, where he is helping establish a production line at the first GE gas turbine manufacturing facility in the Middle East and also leading multiple Lean process improvement initiatives. Previously, he interned at MTTS as a junior enterprise resource planning consultant and as an assistant to the Operations Manager for IT and purchasing. He is the President of the Production and Manufacturing Engineering Club, which conducts seminars, provides academic counselling, and organizes field trips for its members. His support for his fellow students is not limited to his industry; passionate about public speaking, Alwaleed co-founded the PSU Falcons Toastmasters Club, of which he is the Vice President of Education. He spends his free time volunteering at the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the Saudi Food Bank, and other local volunteer groups.

Anas Mohamed Alfadda

Alfaisal University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Anas is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medicine at Alfaisal University and is deeply passionate about medical research. At the Saudi Research Science Institute, he underwent training in bio-optical imaging and conducted research on the functional annotation of plasmid DNA sequences. He was published in The FASEB (Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology) Journal. In 2015, he served on Alfaisal’s undergraduate research committee, securing more than 80 research internships for medical students with renowned international institutions. He is also driven by creativity and entrepreneurship in medicine; he was an international finalist at Intel’s Science and Engineering Fair and finished fourth at the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity in 2013. To further his mission to encourage medical innovation, Anas founded Vision 2030 Club, which empowers entrepreneurs to realize the Kingdom’s ambitious 2030 agenda. In two years, the initiative expanded to six universities, and membership rose to 1,000.

Anas Salem Aldawsari

King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences

Medicinal and Health Sciences

As a pharmacy intern at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, Anas has earned a reputation for his proficiency in pharmaceutical research. Anas currently serves as the inaugural president of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society Student Chapter to provide career guidance. He built his repertoire by completing a program at Cigalah Group’s Pharma and Healthcare Division as well as at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre; through these, he built his practical, scientific, research, and related office management skills. He subsequently participated in several research projects, published papers, and presented posters at scientific conferences. Anas is deeply passionate about healthcare. As a member of the Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association, he founded “People for People,” a group of volunteers that provides public assistance, youth care, health field activities, and in-home medical services. Under Anas’s leadership, the group has grown to over 120 members and has provided more than 500 services to beneficiaries.

Atheer Abdulraheem Alsufyani

Taif University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Atheer is a student of medicine at the University of Taif with 100% academic scores from the sixth grade to present. At the University of Taif, she was selected among five medical students to participate in the Saudi International Medical Education Conference in Riyadh. She was also chosen to represent the university at the 10th Medical Career Day at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. Atheer enjoys volunteering in the medical field; she co-founded the Great Minds Medical Students Club, which provides essential courses for medical students. Passionate about preventative healthcare, Atheer also volunteered with the Gulf Campaign for Cancer Awareness. Outside the medical field, she has served the World Assembly of Muslim Youth during Hajj season. She recently published two research papers after participating as a data collector in the field of Hajj. She is an art enthusiast who enjoys painting and digital drawing.

Dima Saleh Alsheikh

Prince Sultan University

Languages and Literature

Dima, a senior at Prince Sultan University (PSU), is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in applied linguistics and enjoys exploring public policy through a variety of avenues. She recently participated in PSU’s undergraduate research forum by conducting a study on and making recommendations for emergency call centers. Currently, she serves as Manager of Education for PSU’s student council. She is also the Secretary General of PSU’s Model United Nations (MUN) Society and has participated in local and international conferences, including Prague MUN, where she received an honorable mention award, and AlFaisal MUN, where she won the Best Delegate title. She credits MUN for her high level of empathy and ability to think objectively and through someone else’s perspective. Furthermore, at PSU, she worked as a research assistant, supporting the Director of the Translation and Authoring Center with multiple publications. In her free time, Dima enjoys traveling and reading best-sellers.

Esraa Ebrahim Alhasan

King Saud University

Foundation Year

Esraa is a highly technically sophisticated second-year student of IT at King Saud University. She enjoys attending supplemental training courses, such as Intellectual Protection and Patents, Small Projects Management, and First Aid and Safety. She was first introduced to the world of robotics after she took part in “3waalm,” where she won first place. She combines her technical prowess with an entrepreneurial spirit, which is demonstrated by multiple ventures. First, she developed “Sunflower,” a program to guide budding gardeners. Second, she won the bronze medal in scientific research at the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity, “Ibdaa,” for the invention of volcanic-rock-based hydroponic nourishment. Third, she founded “Kayrykays,” an art supply startup. She conducts workshops on different styles of art for branding and marketing purposes. Outside academia, entrepreneurship, and technology, Esraa participated in Mawhiba summer programs and the Arab Reading Challenge for three years in a row.

Esraa Mohammed Almuwarraee

Taibah University

Visual Arts

Esraa is a senior student of interior design at Taibah University. She currently leads the first-ever interior design forum in Medina. Recently, she placed as a runner-up in a university internal design competition. She credits her successes to her strong belief in self-development, leadership courses, and events. For example, she is an active member in the Design Club and the Qabas Cultural Club, both of which help her stay abreast of evolutions in the design industry. While Esraa currently represents Taibah University in the Volunteers Forum, she began participating in community service and volunteer projects during her childhood, and since then, has devised, planned, and implemented a large number of projects and programs in various sectors. She has received recognition from the Dean for her contribution to the success of the program of Diwaniat Youth Volunteer. In her spare time, she loves exploring the handicraft industry.

Essa Hassan Nahari

Jazan University

Business/Management

Essa studies law at Jazan University. He will be transferring to the University of Delaware to pursue his passion for marketing. After being selected by the MiSK Foundation to complete a media course, Essa became a journalist for The Independent. He continues his education through courses and by supporting the Small and Medium Enterprises Forum with media needs. Essa also draws on his training from the King Salman Youth Center as well as extensive experience as a board member of Jazan Youth Council and as a Head of The Culture and Information Committee. In 2019, he founded an initiative for this committee, “On Focus.” Essa has won several accolades. He was selected by King Abdulaziz International Cultural Center to speak at “IINSPIRE.” He was honored by the President of Aramco after placing second in Aramco’s Arabic reading contest. Additionally, he has been recognized by the Minister of Education and the Presidents of King Khalid, Taibah, and Jazan Universities.

Fatimah Abdullah Buzid

King Faisal University

Law

Fatimah is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in law at King Faisal University. Her drive for growth in her chosen field led her to participate in many legal and regulatory training programs. For instance, she is an active member of the Community Partnership Committee, where prevalent topics within the community are chosen and discussed from a legal perspective and subsequently shared with the greater community. Being passionate about knowledge dissemination, she is also a member of the Ambitious Neighborhood Club, a volunteering initiative aimed to provide tutoring and support for female students. Outside her studies and volunteer activities, Fatimah enjoys pursuing and participating in art competitions, such as the Nagoshi competition, where she won first place.

Ghadah Tariq Alrajhi

King Saud University

Mathematics

Ghadah is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in actuarial and financial mathematics at King Saud University (KSU). She channels her innate leadership skills and desire to teach to participate in various extracurricular activities. As a member of the university’s Math Club, she leads sessions on math topics. She is also involved in planning and organizing several on-campus events, such as TEDx and Toastmasters training. She presides over the Cultural Committee at Earaq Group, which provides free capability building and leadership training to aspiring young female leaders. She also worked in the Student Partnership Program as vice president of the 10th scientific symposium as KSU for six months. Ghadah is a natural entrepreneur with a flair for educational start-ups. Last year, she launched the ‘GHN’ program, which promotes reading among young adults. As a high school student, she started a website dedicated to teaching English to non-native speakers. In her free time, Ghadah enjoys learning programming languages and improving her technology skills.

Hasan Naji Abduljaleel

King Abdulaziz University

Engineering

Hasan is a very well-rounded third-year student of industrial engineering at King Abdulaziz University, where he is the Vice Chairman of the Relations and Marketing Committee for the Industrial Engineering Club. During college, he held several full- and part-time positions in companies such as Hasad Holding and Muhoor Financial Consultancy, where he was able to expand his knowledge and skillset beyond the field of engineering. His inborn passion for reading and writing has also granted him a position as a writer and content editor for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. In his free time, Hasan enjoys participating in community-related events, such as supporting the Azhari Neighborhood, where he volunteers to deliver training courses for the community.

Ibrahim Bandar Bin Ateeq

King Saud University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Ibrahim’s passion for discovering solutions to unsolved medical diseases led to his pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences at King Saud University. He continues to advance his knowledge beyond the curriculum through workshops and seminars. Ibrahim also enjoys volunteering and being an active participant in several organizations, including the Saudi Society of Emergency Medicine, the Saudi Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, the Optometry Doctor Club, and the Saudi Aramco Cultural Program. He will start his one-year internship with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in the fall of 2019, setting himself on the path to fulfilling his dream of pushing the boundaries of medicine.

Joud Tofiq Saleh

Yanbu University College

Computer Science/Technology

Joud is a computer science student at Yanbu University College. A mathematician by passion, she participated in several mathematical Olympiads, most notably winning two silver medals at the European Mathematical Olympiad for Girls in Switzerland (2017) and Italy (2018), a bronze medal at the Junior Mathematics Olympiad in Macedonia (2014), a bronze medal at the 2017 International Mathematical Olympiad in Brazil, and a silver medal at the Gulf Mathematics Olympiad (2017). When she is not pursuing her interests in computer science and mathematics, she dabbles in literature and public speaking. She was selected to represent Yanbu in the National Literature Project, where she participated with a short story and won 2nd place in YELI English Club’s Tell Me a Story competition. She is also an active member of Toastmasters. In her free time, she interns to train students to pass aptitude tests; she also provides coaching for participation in mathematical Olympiads. Joud is currently working on establishing a gift-decor business.

Khalid Hussain Alghamdi

Taif University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Khalid is a senior at Taif University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in dentistry. In 2014, he received the Perfect Student Shield from the Faculty of Dentistry. To supplement his degree, he seeks continuous self-development, taking courses such as team building, management, and creative thinking provided by Al Ahya Centers Association, in addition to first aid courses offered by the American Heart Association and the Red Crescent. Khalid most recently volunteered at King Abdullah Medical City, where he helped organize an awareness and prevention campaign regarding corona viruses. He also has an active presence on his university’s campus, where he leads several sports and academic initiatives. Moreover, he was also presented with a certificate of thanks and appreciation by the Commander of the Civil Defense Forces for his participation in organizing Hajj in 2018.

Khlod Moneef Alshammary

Northern Borders University

Business/Management

Khlod is a bachelor’s student, focusing on Human Resource Management at the Northern Borders University. Her dedication to academics has pushed her to maintaining top ranking among all students at her university. Additionally, Khlod enjoys attending workshops and seminars focused on soft skills, time management, and teamwork. In her free time, Khlod focuses on volunteering activities; her contributions have been recognized by the university. For instance, she co-founded a student club focusing on special needs students and is the President of the Business Administration College Students Club. Moreover, as a charismatic and social person, she has been active in a number of clubs, including those focused on sports, arts, and the English language. In her free time, Khlod enjoys computer design, reading, and playing table tennis.

Maher Abdulrahman Aljohani

King Abdulaziz University

Engineering

Maher is currently pursuing his master’s degree in communication and electronics engineering at King Abdulaziz University after completing his undergraduate degree at the same university. He is deeply passionate about hardware design, radio frequency, radar, and drones. Maher has received numerous rewards and recognition for his participation in various invention conventions and competitions. Most notably, Maher participated in the “Invent” convention held at the National University of Science and Technology in Moscow and obtained an Excellence Award from the Malaysian Association of Research Scientists. He also received a thank-you letter from HRH Prince Khalid bin Faisal Al Saud, Governor of Makkah, for representing Saudi Arabia there. Maher has demonstrated strong leadership skills, particularly as President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers International Student Branch and President of the Student Club of the Engineering Faculty, both at his university. In his free time, Maher maintains his start-up, where he and his team develop web and mobile applications.

Majed Ghanem Al-Harbi

Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Majed is a student of medicine and surgery at Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University.Previously, he was recognized by the Department of Education in Al-Kharj for ranking first in academic performance, obtaining a 100% score for two consecutive years in high school. Furthermore, he was nominated for a scholarship from both highly selective SABIC and Aramco educational programs. In his free time, Majed enthusiastically volunteers with the Red Crescent during Hajj period in the Holy Mosque in Madinah, where he provides first aid to pilgrims. He was recently accepted to the Saudi Medical Academy for Volunteering for Hajj season 1440/2019 in Makkah. An outstanding orator and writer, he has won first place in various presentation competitions in university and is an actively participating member in Toastmasters. When he is not pursuing self-development, he enjoys reading and traveling to Saudi cities to discover the country’s historical culture.

Maryam Ahmed Alqassas

King Abdulaziz University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Maryam is a medical student at King Abdulaziz University. Previously, she received first-place ranking across seven Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education subjects in Jeddah. Last year, she was chosen to attend the MiSK and Johns Hopkins Summer fellowship, where she met industry-leading physicians and scientists. This experience helped shape her career goals; she is passionate about medical research and already has three publications in international journals. Furthermore, she founded the Student Research and Innovation Unit at King Abdulaziz University and has co-authored a book about clinical research written for undergraduates. In connection with the Bridge Club at her university, she volunteered as a mentor for junior students, providing academic guidance. She combines her passion for medicine with concern for the environment and has been a member of Mermates, a Red Sea diving group that spreads awareness about safe diving and conservation of the environment. She has a license in open-water diving from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors.

Maryam Eissa Ajeebi

Jazan University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Maryam is pursuing her passion for serving patients through her bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at Jazan University. Excelling academically, Maryam was the recipient of the Best Student Award at the second Clinical Skills Summer Training from KSU-MC, the Student Academic Excellence Award 2018 from the Faculty of Medicine, and the Student Academic Excellence Award 2019 from the university. At Jazan, Maryam participated in several research projects, including a study on migraines and their association with phone addiction. She was also the lead organizer of a polio awareness campaign and the Jazan symposium on AIDS. To pair her scholastics and extracurriculars with concrete experience, Maryam has completed rotations at both Dr. Sulaiman Faqih Hospital and the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh. When she is not contributing to health and wellness initiatives, she presides over the Medicine Student Club. She is a member of the Student Council as well as the Higher Program Accreditation Committee.

Mayada Mahmoud Elsaid

Prince Sultan University

Computer Science/Technology

Mayada is a Dean’s List senior student at Prince Sultan University, where she is currently pursuing a degree in software engineering/cyber security. She was recently nominated for the “Ideal Student” award and serves as the computer college representative on her university’s Student Council. Mayada has always been passionate about mathematics and technology; she is either taking part in projects using emerging technologies, such as augmented reality, or by teaching students of different ages. She was an instructor of Web Development Boot Camp and a teaching assistant at iCreate Kids Academy. She is most proud of a project she worked on regarding Human-Computer Interaction; she developed a prototype app, “Let’sParty,” that takes the full value-chain needed in a party. She also won her university’s annual Math Mondale for four years. When Mayada is out of the academic and technological sphere, she is a Toastmasters Competent Communicator, a basketball player, and an active volunteer in humanitarian events.

Mohammed Ali Alsaeed

King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals

Business/Management

Mohammed is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). His scholastic drive has consistently been recognized; he received the Ideal Student Award at Al-Kharj. In college, Mohammed was awarded a certificate of excellence for obtaining a university-level third honorary degree. Prior to that, he was honored by HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar and the Ministry of Education for his academic excellence. At only 18, Mohammed interned at one of the big four accounting firms, KPMG, where he honed his financial skill set. He also worked at Salasa and Madad, focusing on sales and growth. His channeled his passion for innovation to win the Business Model competition hosted by the College of Business Administration at KFUPM. He also won third place in the STEAM innovation challenge at KAUST in 2019. Mohammed is an active community member who founded The Majlis Somou Initiative, a non-profit organization that empowers Saudi students in universities.

Muhannad Abdulaziz Alnahdi

King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences

Muhannad is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Medicine at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, where he was on the Dean’s List for two consecutive years. Muhannad was the representative of his batch, the leader of the Scientific Committee of the Fourth Health Professions Conference, and the leader of the organizing team of “Ata’a” Volunteerism Forum. He is genuinely passionate about research. Muhannad is working on multiple research projects and has written six articles, one of which was published. He led the “You’re Their Savior” First Aid awareness campaign and supervised the “My Health initiative” for eight consecutive campaigns to raise awareness about various health issues.

Nouf Khalid Hammad

Nouf is currently pursuing her medical degree at Taibah University. Over the past 4 years, Nouf has obtained several awards for outstanding achievements. She Received the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (King Salman) Award in the gifted category. She won 1st place in the ‘Start-up Weekend’ program by Badir Technology Incubators and assigned as a program Ambassador. She also won first place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Ministry of Education Award for Excellence (Distinguished Student Class). She came 3rd place at the Emirates Award for the youth of the Arabian Gulf and 3rd place at the 101 Youth Award. In her free time, Nouf runs her start-up ‘Wahedoon’, a digital app that provides services to autistic children. She has participated in many voluntary activities such as volunteering in the Prophet’s Mosque with over 200 hours as a medic with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority. She is one of the students of Mawhiba Foundation and is part of the Saudi delegation in many educational trips such as trips to America, Britain and the Netherlands.

Obeid Mohammed Alkethami

Obeid is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medicine at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. He is also working at the Saudi Celiac Association as Head of the Volunteering Department. As President of the Leen Volunteering Club, he launched Leen’s School, which is the club’s tutoring program for children at the King Abdullah Specialist Hospital, and mobilized volunteers who provide free dentistry services for underprivileged children. He also volunteers with the Arshidni program, providing academic counseling to preparatory-year students. He finished seventh in the National Chemistry Olympiad in Riyadh. Obeid was able to develop project management skills by participating in many conferences and projects. He is passionate about knowledge dissemination and has taken it upon himself to organize a myriad of medical awareness campaigns at his university and in the local community.

Omar Abdulrahman Alhazzaa

Omar, a junior at University of Michigan pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science and engineering, was named a TechLab fellow by the Center for Entrepreneurship. Subsequently, he was sponsored to be part of Mcity, an autonomous vehicle project, where he is working with Trillium Secure on a security solution utilizing machine learning. He also received the United Technologies Cooperation special award and an honorable mention from the Society of Experimental Test Pilots at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. Channeling his interest in the intersection of data science and business, he contributed to the business development of a product that reduces healthcare costs by using machine learning and implemented a proof of concept as an intern at Mozn. This summer, he is interning at Arbormoon, where he is developing and deploying the machine learning part of different software applications. Omar is also committed to community service and leads the corporate initiative of the Association of Arab Scientists and Engineers.

Omar Bakr Alammari

King Saud University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Omar is a student of medicine at King Saud University and is passionate about scientific research in the fields of preventative medicine and health. He was a participant of the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair 17 competition that was held in Los Angeles, one of the oldest scientific research competitions in the world for undergraduate students in the fields of science and engineering. Omar also won first place in the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity and received numerous awards in recognition, most notably from King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Al-Maarefa College, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and King Saud Medical City. Throughout his high school years, Omar cemented his passion for medicine by working at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre as a researcher on cancer stem cells and breast cancer. He has also actively participated in Mawhiba programs.

Osama Farouk Khogeer

University of Business and Technology

Engineering

Osama is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Business and Technology with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, and their applications to businesses. He is academically astute, having won the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) gifted students’ scholarship for his scholastic achievements. Osama’s drive for innovation and technology has won him 2nd place in the STEM challenge hosted by KAUST and SABB in 2017. He also established a tech start-up called Virtual ChatBot that aims to provide industries with an easier and more convenient way to reach their customers using machine learning. Among his many interests, Osama is actively involved in improving the environment and was one of the speakers in a nationwide environmental awareness movement held in Jeddah.

Raed Lafi Alahmdi

Taibah University

Engineering

Raed is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Taibah University. Previously, he completed internships at Tokai University in Japan, where he worked on solar car designs, solar cells, and electric systems; Hejaz Plastic Factory in Saudi Arabia, where he performed maintenance work on production line machines; and Seraa Group, where he worked with the IT department to establish an internal website for the company. He was also a volunteer event organizer at the MiSK Foundation event ‘Saudi Codes’ in Medina. Raed is passionate about disseminating knowledge to other people and consequently established an educational YouTube channel when he was 14 years old to post educational videos in Arabic. Over the past eight years, he has grown his subscriber base to over 60,000, and his videos have garnered more than 11 million views. This summer, Raed will begin an internship in the mechanical engineering field at the Saudi Railways Organization.

Rahaf Saleh AlMuhanna

Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University

Rahaf is currently in her senior year studying financial and banking administration at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University. She completed summer internships at the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (for three consecutive years) and volunteered at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture as a board observer. This is in addition to serving as the finance and procurement committee leader at TEDx IAU. She continuously strives for self-development in the field of finance and has attended many courses related to management. Rahaf’s ambition has granted her the first place within 45 projects in the Fourth Academic Exhibition for Entrepreneurship. One of her most remarkable achievements is establishing a charity initiative that aims to provide for the less fortunate. In her spare time, Rahaf likes to walk, stay up to date with the local and global news, and read and memorize Arabic literature.

Rima Jamil Alhanniny

Dar Al Uloom University

Medicinal and Health Sciences

Rima is studying dentistry at Dar Al Uloom University, having received the HE Shaikh Abdulaziz Bin Ali Al-Tuwajiri Scholarship for outstanding students. Her drive for success resulted in first place in the Scientific Cultural Competition between all dental schools in Riyadh and third place in Challenges in Endodontic Cases competition for treating dental nerves during the Health Professions Conference 2019. She draws on these to pursue her passion for storytelling. For instance, she won first prize in the I Am the Voice of Creativity competition for speech and declamation and participated in MiSK’s summer program for storytelling. She was one of the 11 qualifiers at Raui MiSK finals. In college, Rima is a founding member of Thanaya Club for the College of Dentistry at Dar Al Uloom University as well as the “Al-Rawat” club. After completing the Qimam program, Rima will begin a dental summer training at Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital.

Ruba MHD Safwan Bazerbachi

Alfaisal University

Computer Science/Technology

After being awarded a merit scholarship, Ruba is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in software engineering at Alfaisal University. A highly accomplished Dean’s List student, Ruba is keen on helping her fellow students succeed in their coursework by providing free calculus and programming sessions through the Engineering Student Association Tutoring Program. In connection with Alfaisal ClickIt Club, Ruba participated in the Hour of Code, an event where participants learn about application development within time constraints. Outside of academia, Ruba is passionate about volunteering, crediting her trip to the Zaatari refugee camp as a life-changing experience. Engaging with refugees helped her appreciate their endurance in the face of adversity and bolstered her determination to help the underprivileged. She is now a member of the Alfaisal Volunteer Club, assisting in organizing charitable events hosted by the university. She also voluntarily participated in a Guinness World Records event for the largest blind taste test as part of a Blind Awareness Campaign.

Sahira Jilan Nahari

Sahira is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at Batterjee Medical College in Jeddah. She spent her formative years studying at Carr Manor Community School in Leeds, UK. In 2012, she achieved the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. In 2016, Sahira volunteered at Tosamaganga Hospital in Iringa, where she learned about the Tanzanian healthcare system and shadowed doctors. She established and now presides over the Volunteer Club at her college, where she coordinates various community service initiatives. Through these, she ignites a passion for volunteering in many others. Sahira also has a leisurely side to her. She was certified in open-water diving by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors in 2015, after which the sea became a soothing escape. Nurtured by greenery, she tends to retreat to her family farm, where she spends time bonding with her horse Zalzala, or exploring the nuances of different cultures, firsthand, through traveling.

Saleem Abdulfattah Aldajani

Sponsored by the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) Gifted Student Program, Saleem is graduating from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with bachelor’s degrees in physics and chemical-biological engineering and a master’s degree in nuclear science and engineering. He won the MIT Freshman Award for Distinguished Achievement in Academics and Research and was later inducted into the Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Pi Sigma, and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies. He was also President of the MIT Arab Student Organization and a member of the Student Government. Additionally, Saleem interned at SpaceX, CERN, Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Saleem is driven to making economic and social impacts; he won grants for more than $1 million from MIT and KAUST to support his entrepreneurial ventures in Saudi Arabia and relief efforts in Syria. He also volunteered to manage events like the US-Saudi Young Leaders Forum in collaboration with the Saudi General Entertainment Authority under Vision 2030.

Samaher Saeed Hazzazi

King Abdulaziz University

Samaher is a student at King Abdulaziz University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medicine, in which her interest was sparked after attending a biotechnology course at Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth in Malaysia and Brown University’s medical program. She is a Mawhiba gifted student who earned a six-year scholarship; received The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States Award, where she represented Saudi high school students; and became a top-ten finalist for the Ministry of Education’s Academic Excellence Award. Additionally, she is a Dale-Carnegie-trained leader who is passionate about volunteering; she led a program within the Pediatric Cardiac Centre of Excellence (Falathat) to spread awareness about heart diseases. She also takes part in non-medical events like TEDxKau, Effat University’s electrical engineering courses, and the National Olympiad for Scientific Creativity. Samaher is enthusiastic about public speaking and presented a research workshop in the “Teach Me Medicine” program, and an interactive multiple sclerosis presentation to encourage empathy towards patients.

Sarah Ali Merzen

Sarah is pursuing a bachelor’s in finance with a minor in economics at Temple University through the Saudi Ministry of Education Scholarship. An honors student on the Dean’s List, Sarah became the only Middle Eastern student chosen from a competitive pool to become an Energy Analyst for The Owl Fund, a $500,000 equity investment fund where students are selected based on their modeling and valuation acumen. Sarah has always excelled in academics, receiving the Excellent Educational Attainment Honor in Aseer in 2014 and 2015 for her high school performance. Her love for mathematics earned her second place in the International Mathematical Olympiad in Aseer, and she was selected in the Mawhiba Summer Program for talented students. In addition to academia, Sarah spends her time volunteering at several organizations, including Jumpstart Philadelphia, an education organization providing language literacy to preschool children. She is also the treasurer of the Saudi Students Association at Temple University.

Saud Mubarak Bubshait

Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University

Saud, currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information technology at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, utilizes his technical expertise and passion to drive entrepreneurial activities. As a result, he won the Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Wa’ed) Certificate of Achievement for Wa’ed Hackathon 2018. Saud’s work experience includes an internship at Careem, where he helped improve processes in the customer-satisfaction department and led several marketing initiatives in the Eastern Province. He plans on launching his own application development start-up later this year. Saud is an active contributor to student life on his college campus. He is the founder and president of the Computing Collaro Club, where he brings together tech enthusiasts to discuss the latest innovations in science and engineering, organizes student workshops, and lectures on a myriad of topics. Saud aspires to become a better version of himself every day and believes that failure is nothing but a stepping stone to greater success.

Sawsan Nasser AlMarzouk

Driven by her passion for innovation and technology, Sawsan chose to pursue a degree in computer science at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. Here, she established The Robotic Team, a group that teaches students the principles and everyday applications of robotics. Through this initiative, Sawsan presented several workshops, reaching over 500 students. Her contributions have been recognized by both the university and the MiSK Foundation. Sawsan also participated in several competitions, such as the Hajj Hackathon, in addition to the Innovation Forum, where she won seventh place, and TEDx Imam, where she won first place. Additionally, Sawsan took part in designing the Arabic interfaces for the Eyes on the Earth NASA application for King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, in addition to volunteering to organize the MIT Saudi Hack for Health, the First International Conference on Combating Cybercrime, and the East and West Inspirational festival.

Shouq Yousef Alsaedi

Effat University

Business/Management

Shouq is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in finance at Effat University, where she is on the Dean’s List and serves as the Vice President of the Student Shura. A Mawhiba alumni, Shouq participated in enrichment programs, one of which is at the Saudi Research Science Institute at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, where she researched fuel cell development. Shouq believes in the importance of continuous learning and growth and has completed several self-development and leadership programs, such as LMI and John Maxwell Team programs and the Arab Excellence Program sponsored by Unilever. She utilized the skills she gained by founding and leading the Qendeel Club, which aims to promote the joy of acquiring knowledge. She also worked at the YLC Academy, developing and implementing youth leadership programs. Compelled by her interest in business and the goal of inspiring youth, Shouq worked on A Story Might Ignite a Dream, a book comprised of interviews she conducted with successful businesspeople.

Sulaiman Saleh Alsaif

Sulaiman is pursuing his master’s degree at Imperial College London after landing a scholarship from the MOE Elite Scholarship Program. Earlier, he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Indianapolis with a bachelor’s in respiratory therapy. He is now majoring in cardiorespiratory healthcare and, for his master’s project, collaborating with the Sleep Apnoea Trust Association and the University of Oxford to empower patients by building linkages to patient support organizations. As a presidential ambassador, he worked closely with the university’s president and represented theUniversity of Indianapolis at various formal events. He also participated in several extracurricular activities while maintaining academic excellence. This sparked his interest in transformational leadership, patient empowerment, and community volunteering initiatives. Sulaiman is also currently a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and a Registered Respiratory Therapist. He has trained in leadership and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and co-founded the Saudi Student Respiratory Care Organization, in which he serves as Program of Development Director.

Sultan Salem Alaboodi

Sultan is studying industrial engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He has long been interested in science and engineering, his self-motivation and dedication earning him the Award of Scientific Excellence in physics twice at university and the Prize for Excellence in Science and Leadership in high school. In his free time, Sultan is active in several organizations, including being a member of the Student Advisory Council at King Fahad University, a co-founder of Riyali Club, and the President of Operations & Logistics. He has varied interests and has taken on many leadership roles, most recently as Sales Manager at Qossor, where he was tasked with analyzing data and building the sales team. He is also passionate about volunteering, completing the Raed program for volunteering management, as well as writing, having won the Award for Excellence in Writing from KFUPM.

Yara Abdullah Alnutaifi

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University

Computer Science/Technology

Yara is majoring in data analytics with Dublin City University at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and simultaneously an apprentice at Elm Company. Yara strongly believes in empowering youth by harnessing the power of tech, data, and social media; she recently obtained a scholarship from the MiSK Foundation to pursue a Data Analyst Nanodegree with Udacity and also volunteered at Tarjimly, a solution that supports refugees requiring real-time translation. Furthermore, Yara participated in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Hacking Medicine in 2018 as a mentor for the data science track and attended Dell EMC Academic, Data Science, and Big Data Analytics training. She has also been nominated for the Google Women Techmakers community and was a motivational speaker at Youth Leadership Forum. As college representative in the Students’ Advisory Council, Yara aimed to improve the university experience for her fellow classmates, especially drawing on her social media presence.

Yazeed Mohammed Almutairi

Majmaah University

Business/Management

Yazeed is currently studying business management at Majmaah University, where he has taken several courses within the social sector. These courses have added further fuel to Yazeed’s passion for volunteering, which has always been very close to his heart. He has actively volunteered across different causes and has been recognized for his participation in the Volunteer Power Program in Al-Baha, most notably, ranking first in the Sofra’a Al Wasatiya 2 competition. Additionally, Yazeed is currently leading the Volunteer Club at his university. Last year, he was rewarded by the Prince of Riyadh, HRH Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud for achieving second place in Majmaah University’s competition for serving the community; he is optimistic about securing first place this year. Outside his academic and volunteering activities, he founded his own telecom trading company. Yazeed is a strong believer in the power of positivity and in teamwork to plan for the future and take his venture to the next level.
